good things, moving. Let’s talk freight

Field notes / delivery planning

LTL or white glove?
Start with the finish line.

A freight quote answers how the item travels. A delivery plan answers what happens when it arrives. If you sell furniture, fixtures or other bulky products, you may need one service, the other or both.

Which job needs doing?

Move the freight

Less-than-truckload (LTL)

A shared carrier network can move a properly prepared pallet or handling unit when it does not need an entire truck. Check freight class, packaging, pickup and delivery access, and whether the receiver can unload it. Standard LTL delivery does not mean carrying it into a room.

Finish the delivery

White glove

A suitable final-mile team may handle an appointment, inside delivery or placement. Unpacking, assembly, installation and debris removal are separate tasks that need to be accepted and priced. “White glove” alone is not a complete scope.

Connect the steps

Sometimes you need both.

One provider may move freight to a local facility; another may complete the inside delivery. The receiving location, inspection, storage, appointments and proof at each handoff need a clear owner. For some items, dedicated transport may be a better fit.

Three examples.

A pallet to a retailer with a dock: LTL may cover the move. Confirm the retailer's appointment rules, labeling and receiving hours before booking.

A large piece going inside a customer's home: The carrier's standard delivery may stop at the curb or threshold. Ask for the exact inside-delivery scope, crew and access requirements.

Several fixtures for a new store: Freight movement, local receiving, a timed delivery and placement may involve more than one provider. Map those handoffs before promising an opening date.

What to send for a useful comparison.

Send what you know. We can identify missing details, compare suitable providers and confirm the quoted scope before you commit to a buyer.

Use the quote-ready checklist

Good questions.

Before you book.

Does a liftgate include inside delivery?

No. A liftgate moves freight between the truck and ground level. Inside movement, stairs and placement require a separately agreed service.

Is white glove always better for fragile items?

It depends on the product, packaging, route and handling plan. We review those details with suitable providers; the service label by itself does not establish protection or insurance coverage.

Can I use LTL for one online order?

Possibly, if the item is prepared for the carrier network and a suitable provider accepts the shipment. A single order is enough to start a conversation with us.
